Jerry Byrd is about to be 80 years young and it crossed my mind that since he doesn't own a computer, posting tons of replys here wouldn't do him any good. I think that we, the Non-Pedal Players of the world, should take the time to honor the Undisputed King of the Lap Steel by sending Jerry a birthday card with a short note telling him how he has touched our lives as steel players. His birthday is March 9th so we all have plenty of time to send him our best wishes. His address is:

Great idea! I'd recommend that you go down to your favorite card shop, as I have done in the past. Don't settle for some little dinky, run of the mill card, but get him one of those really BIG cards; they're about 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide. That way you can tell him EVERYTHING his playing has meant to you. He will appreciate it, I assure you. Don't tell him I suggested this tho'. Let him think it was the Big E or one of his other #1 fans.
