You grab the loop of the return spring and pull it forward off the changer hook. Then rotate the spring clockwise to tighten (or counter-clockwise to loosen) on the screw holding it to the end plate. Then stretch the spring loop back over the changer finger.
It’s really easy to do. It takes about 30 seconds to complete the whole operation.
To make it easier buy a $7.00 tack puller off Amazon or grind a slot across the head of a flat head screw driver to grab the spring loop.

One other thing: once you get the spring loop off of the changer finger, the finger will be pulled forward towards the key head because of the string tension on the top side.
After you’ve adjusted the spring length, you’ll need to push the finger back into alignment with its mates, while you’re stretching the spring onto the changer hook.
