My album "Waltz for Elma" available online

Post by Jan Jonsson »

I'm late to the party as usual, but now my solo album from 2015 is finally available on Spotify (as well as on YouTube Music, Apple Music and iTunes Store). Guest musicians on the album are acoustic bass player extraordinaire Bob DeBoo (of ISGC Jazz Room fame) and Swedish guitar player Mats Karlsson.

While I originally did not think about any particular theme for the album, it turned out to contain music by Swedish and British composers only. Four compositions are written by me, two are written by guitarist Allan Holdsworth, one is written by bass player Christian Spering and one is written by pianist Lars Jansson. Three of the compositions were performed when I played in the Jazz Room at ISGC in 2011.

Steel guitar trivia:
Track #1 and #8: Desert Rose 12-string with "Lloyd Green"-style E9 setup and Telonics bridge pickup
Track #2 and #3: Fulawka D-10 with C6 setup and TrueTone bridge pickup
Track #4 and #7: Desert Rose 12-string with "Allan Holdsworth"-style C6 setup and Telonics bridge pickup
Track #5 and #6: Desert Rose 10-string with C6-setup and Tonealigner neck pickup

I have this CD and I really like it. It is not a country CD, but it has some great playing on it. '
