I haven’t tried it yet on steel as I’m currently without my guitar, but the Tone King Imperial Preamp pedal is insanely good and worth a try in my opinion. Not cheap but it’s better than any digital modeler I’ve tried as it’s still an analog tube preamp, with two channels, stereo reverb and trem, balanced XLR out, stereo fx loop, cab IR, and even a stereo headphone out for silent practice. Going to pair it with a Fender FR-12 powered cabinet I think.

Fender started making the FR-212, it’s a 2x12 version of the existing FR models. I am mostly using a profile of a fender twin and am thinking about getting one compliment that profile - completing the “digital” twin reverb setup. It only weighs 40lbs. Anyone tried this speaker yet?

Have the single FR-12 and it sounds great.

Tone king is a wonderful preamp, tonal charscter identical to a 65 deluxe reverb. I”m glad i dumped the digital modeling idea. The built in spring reverb is really lush. Best purchase I have made. at 600.00 you are getting alot for your money.
I run stereo Direct to Front Of House with stereo reverbs and echo delays.
