How Common is it to have the D lever (E lowers) on the RKL?

I started with Sho~Bud, both Maverick and then Pro lll with E's lowered RKL. Several years later I read that Buddy lowered his on LKR, while raise on LKL, so I switched, cause after all .... This change was made in the mid 80's. Then in 2017 I bought my first MSA where the E's were lowered on RKL. There was a little time to refamiliarize myself with that configuration, but it didn't take long. There are Pro's and Con's to both ... with both the E's on the left knee you do gain some additional combinations with other knee levers. But with the Raises on LKL and Lowers on RKL, when you want to make that transition from lower to raise its arguably the most seamless, smooth as butter transition you (I) can make.

Since 2020, I've gone back to both E's on the Left, but that said, I'd be fine having them split between Left and Right. They're BOTH fine.

I have 2 recent built steels with the E lower on RKL and raise on LKL. I was used to the Emmons Es on the left but rather than change these I got adjusted to the new Copedent. I still prefer them on the left and will probably make the changes eventually.
