Arnette has been one of my favorite players since the first time I heard him play. He makes the song his own. I never got to meet him, but he called me out of the blue one day and we had a very nice conversation. He passed away not long after this. RIP great steel player.

I agree with you Rick, the first time I ran across him on YouTube and heard him play I was an instant fan.
I never met him, but somehow he sort of knew who I was. Imagine my surprise when I was at the Dallas show in 2018, his young portégé Jonathan Reynolds walked up to me with a CD that Arnett had made and wanted me to have. That was very special to me and his kindness will always be remembered.

Yeah buddy! Jonathan Reynolds is becoming one of the most popular players in Nashville. He sure had a good teacher.

I'm definitely a fan of Arnettes playing and I have listened to everything he posted. Tone to the bone and smooth as silk. Jonathan has become a first class player. Easy to see where that came from.

Great player. Every once in a while I run across an artist like this I had not heard of before. He is really smooth and has his own style. Thanks for posting.

Me too. People get so focused on a handful of players that they miss some great players that are hiding in the weeds. Some of the best playing I've ever heard came from players that I'd never heard before. im always looking for someone to play a tasteful lick in a song. Doesn't matter to me if they're a top session player, or a weekend warrior at a local gig. I enjoy it either way.
